The aSTEAM Village 2017 - 2018 Robotics and Race Car Season Kick-Off is Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 7:00 pm in our new spacious Urban Innovation Lab located at 1600 Paseo Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64108.
Students will meet after-school and Saturdays beginning the week of September 11th.
The fee for annual programming is $250 with a discount for families who enroll more than one child in the program.
aSTEAM Village operates a nationally and regionally recognized 21st Century skill development program focused on preparing students for participation in the economies of today and tomorrow.
Our computational learning program focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, A...(arts, architecture, agriculture, aerospace) and Math. We challenge students to learn through failure, exploration, research, teamwork, collaboration and time management. We allow the students to learn how to identify and solve problems using the Engineering Design Process.
Our concept of "Village" is a all hands on deck, parent, friends, family and industry professionals as mentors to inspire, educate, consult and work with all of the students of aSTEAM Village to reach the desired output of creating a pipeline of skilled talent and awesome citizens who will be ready to enter college, the workforce and/or the entrepreneurial space as producers and creators as opposed to consumers.
Students will join the aSTEAM Village NSBE Jr. Chapter (grades 1 - 12) and the BDPA Kansas City Chapter (grades 6 - 12).
aSTEAM Village students will attend the NSBE and BDPA National Conventions where they will compete against teams from across the nation, attend STEaM workshops led by college students, interact with STEaM professionals, attend college and career fairs and apply for scholarships.
The NSBE Annual Convention will be held March 21-25, 2018 in Pittsburg, PA and the BDPA National Convention will be held August 9 - 11, 2018 in New Orleans, LA.
The annual membership dues covers the following:
- Participation on the aSTEAM Village competitive robotics, race car engineering and all other competitive teams fielded under NSBE and BDPA programs.
- Registration fees for both the NSBE and BDPA National Conferences
- Cisco NetAcademy, DigiPen Institute of Technology and LearnKey curriculum and certification modules
- Participation in all workshops, events and field trips provided by aSTEAM Village.
Inspire students and families to pursue education and career pathways in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM), through community-based project learning and innovative programs.
aSTEAM Village is a 501(c)3 organization that focuses on engaging students, families, and educators in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) pathways to facilitate career and education readiness for participation in the 21st Century economies of today and tomorrow.
***ALL donations are allocated directly to student programs to pay for competition, registration, travel and meals for the students, unless otherwise requested by the donor to be applied specifically to a certain line item.
