About Balogun Business Association / International Centre for Commerce (BBA/ICC)
Balogun Business Association (BBA) is a congregation of undaunted business acumen; including men and women of diverse cultural and business background. In the early 90s, under the Companies and Allied Matters Act of 1990, the association was registered with the right to perpetual succession, and the capacity to, in its registered name, own and hold properties. Being an incorporated body and within its corporate rights, the association acquired the present location of its International Centre for Commerce (ICC) at the Trade-Fair complex from the Trade-Fair Management Board.
BBA/ICC has 45 clusters/blocks of an average of 320 shops and offices each in addition to plazas owned by individuals. This makes it the largest single shopping complex in West Africa. BBA/ICC has provided employment for over 50,000 people, most of who are youths making it the highest employer of labour amongst all other markets. Many of its members are importers of best standard quality products and therefore, sell in wholesale and at best affordable rates to customers. The members are also government agencies compliant in terms of policies and standard.
The complex was built with the resources of the members without any loan from the bank, the government or any international institution. The complex harbours fifteen banks, some having more than one branch. Away from business, the managers of the BBA/ICC have, to a larger degree, considered the unity in diversity Nigeria, as it was structured to take a national outlook. Apart from the fact that its stakeholders are drawn from diverse ethnic groups, the clusters or blocks are named after states of the federation. BBA/ICC is designed to preach the fact that: even in business, there is room for national integration.
